New Board Members
Kathy Manning, Vermillion, was selected as the 2010-2011 president of the South Dakota Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. The Board of Directors also named Betty Meyer, Sioux Falls, Vice President, Carol Flynn, Sioux Falls, Secretary, and Julie Hanisch, Humboldt, treasurer. In addition to new officers, the Board appointed two new board members, Paul Clemments, Rapid City, and Collette Madison, Sioux Falls.
Manning, RN, has served on the Komen South Dakota Board of Directors since 2008. She is the University of South Dakota Distance Campus Director and Assistant Professor in the nursing department.
Meyer accepted the vice presidency after serving as president in 2009-2010. Meyer recently retired from the Sanford Health System, where she had worked for nearly 30 years.
Flynn has been on the Board of Directors since 2009. She retired in 2002 after serving as the Executive Director for the South Dakota March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation. She has extensive volunteer and board experience.
Hanisch was appointed to the Board in 2009 and became treasurer in October 2009. Hanisch works as the Director of Operations at the Sanford Breast Health Center. She has been with Sanford since 2001, first as Director of Practice Development, and later as Director of Clinic Operations-Sanford Surgical Associates.
Madison has been involved with the Susan G. Komen national organization as a volunteer since 1988. She is a breast cancer survivor and has lost a sister-in-law to the disease.
