The current projects have been selected by our independent Grant Review Panel as those that will have the greatest impact in serving uninsured or underinsured men and women in our service area. Please note that Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is not a direct service provider.

List of Current Community Grant Recipients

  • All Women Count/Women’s Cancer Network, Pierre, SD to provide mammograms for under-insured women under the age of 50.
  • Avera Cancer Institute, Sioux Falls, SD to fund a 12 week survivorship program focused on holistic rehabilitation.
  • Faulkton Area Medical Center, Faulkton, SD to provide education and screening services to rural women and Hutterite communities.
  • John Vucurevich Regional Cancer Care Institute, Rapid City, SD to increase access to women needing breast cancer treatment in remote locations outside of Pennington County.
  • Sanford Breast Health Institute, Sioux Falls, SD to implement a comprehensive support program for breast cancer patients and their families.
  • Custer Health, SD to provide mobile mammography outreach.
  • Avera St. Benedict Health Center, Parkston, SD for breast health awareness, education and screenings for rural women.

  • Avera Queen of Peace, Mitchell, SD to provide screenings to 40 women who have not received regular screenings in the past.
  • Therapeutic Healing Institute, Sioux Falls, SD to provide complementary therapy for breast cancer patients.
  • Platte Health Care Center Avera, Platte, SD for breast health awareness, education and screenings for up to 15 rural women.
  • Yankton Rural Health Education Center, Yankton, SD for the training of four rural health care providers from Yankton and Sturgis who will provide breast health education in 15 rural communities across the state.
  • Huron Regional Medical Center, Huron, SD to support education and discounted screenings for rural women
