Beth (McLeod) Claussen
Yankton High School - 1981
A premier hurdler at the beginning of girls' track in South Dakota, she dominated hurdle races and led her teams to state track championships.
Connie (Prince) Houlihan
Sioux City East - 1976
Premier half-miler at the beginning of girls' track in Iowa. She was limited in distance running because girls were considered too 'weak' to go more than a mile. Went on to become one of the Mid-West's top marathon runners.
Amy Miner
Yankton High School - 1984
800, 1600, Cross Country, and Basektball. One of the top distance runners of the 1980's; she lost to Kristi Rieger in the 1983 Cross Country Championships, but then was a vital cog in Yankton's Baseketball and Track State Championships.
